The Witch Of The Yellowcrestvill

Image
#ShortStory #3 As the sun gazed down upon the Yellowcrestvill, the winds sang the songs of the birds, the cornfields danced and smiled with a gleam and people rejoiced in the abundance of wealth and happiness. And it all seemed to be too good from the eyes of the raven that shadowed from above. Yellowcrestvill, a small village that once took pride in its success and wealth was brought down to its knees by the recent deaths caused by the plague of unknown origin. The village chief had organized the assembly to discuss further upon the matter. At noon, people gathered around the old willow tree at the village centre, and the chief stood tall upon the bench that was built around the tree. "Here, we all have gathered to discuss. The recent deaths have shaken us all, but I assure you all, that there is nothing to worry about. I am sure the ...

An Innocent Crime

#ShortStory #2 I love my sister very much, we are twins, she is the only one who understands me. We played together, did makeup together, and ate together. You know right, what it feels to have a sister with whom you can share anything, do girl-talk and make her a secret partner of crime. I have a brother too; he is a year younger than me. We go to the same school. You know my brother is so stupid, he failed in class 2. It’s probably because of his annoying friends, he played with them all day. Never did he focus on his subjects. I do not have many friends in school, I don't like to talk to those mean girls. They keep teasing me all the time and make fun of me. My math teacher keeps punishing me in his class. I am weak in math and I am not ashamed of it, at least I don't fail like my brother.   My brother is my mom’s favourite, she clearly loves him more, after the death of my father. I was my f...

The Veiled Woods

#ShortStory #1 Trudging through the dark wood forest, they reached a spot that looked like a good place for camping. The ground was wet due to the rains, and so were they. "Let’s camp here!" said John. His girlfriend Penny replied in a relieving voice, "Yes! I am tired. Let’s take rest, guys. We will start again tomorrow morning."   The other couple in the group Anna and Shane agreed. They kept their backpacks on ground and started to unpack the tents.  "Anna, isn't this your first experience?" asked John. "I have done small one-day hikes before with my dad, but night camping nah, it’s my first time," Anna said.  "Trust me, you will never forget this one," Penny said.    Shane moved the backpacks inside the tent just to be on a safer side as they were almost done with the tents.  "We will need dry wood," Shane told John. "Ah, that will be hard as the floor is all wet. Damn," John said in a voice that reflected hi...
